Hi,

it has been veeeery long since my last exposure to SAS (they were more into "base statistics" and data mining was just a concept) but AFAIR they could read and write dbf (the fox2x type). Since it is a separate process, returning a table should be possible, but not a cursor - just delete the table afterwards.

I've integrated stat packages a few times: IMHO exporting the result as a dbf
works best on results like a matrix. Analyzing pure text result files *is* more
work at the start, but often gives you greater flexibility,
which translates into less work if you try many different scenarios.
VFP (including foxtools for older versions) makes it easier than you might think.
