I just purchased "Microsoft Windows Architechure for Developers Training" from Microsoft Press. On page 105 is a chart listing Microsoft's development tools and the features of each. Here's what it says regarding VB & VFP:

VB: Create Reusable software components (ActiveX Controls), C/S development capabilities
VFP: Object-oriented, C/S development capabilties.

Further down the page it says:
"Because they provide these characteristics, the following Visual Studio components are considered object-oriented programming languages:

- Visual C++
- Visual FoxPro
- Visual J++"
