I personally recommend extreme caution before using someone else's logo on your web page without the written consent. A company's logo is not a public property and Canadian Laws are very strict about this. I'm sure U.S. laws have the same provision. However when i asked for autorization to use their logo and the justification that comes with it so far i've been lucky and none of the companies have rejected my demand, therefore i can sleep at night and not waking up in the morning with a court order :-(
