OK, we gotta get the terminology straight ... I'm not sure if you're talking about a sub-class of your user control (which would be a child) or if you're talking about the instance of your user control on your form (which would not be a child). Same goes for the parent terminology.

Maybe I'm being dense, but would you care to clarify this a bit?
