I'm curious how you have the grid sized in the container. Is it maximized to fully occupy the entire container or is there some space where the container is visible? What do you do to initiate the Drag&Drop? Where do you click to do this?

I'm guessing here that the grid is giving you some problems because it is a container itself and when you go to start a Drag&Drop operation, when you think that you are clicking on the grid, you are actually clicking on a control in a column in a grid. If this is the case, and you are using VFP8, you could perhaps use BINDEVENTS. That's just a WAG though.
