This code runs in a module so it was easier for me to use a loop. What advantage would a timer have over a loop?
The loop runs a select query through a data adaptor to my data set. It puts that into a table, and if there are any rows then performs actions with those, but right now there will never be any rows.
It does the same thing again then with other data in another table, but yet again there is no data to process.
It then runs through a quick loop that just holds the process until certain criteria is met.
It then disposes my objects, runs the garbage collector, and goes again.
