Not that I am aware of. How would you handle a multi-user app? What if one user exited successfully, but another did not? Would the order in which user's shutdown failed and one that was successful matter? I would just not be comfortable with some sort of automatic restore that could wipe out good data with a flawed backup. I have had users create a backup AFTER a disaster hit where the backup over-wrote their only potentially good backup.

Automating an automatic backup can be safe enough. It's just the auto restore that is bothersome.
