>I just received today "Microsoft Tech*Ed 98" slick bulletin for the conference in New Orleans, Louisiana.
>
>VFP is mentioned one time, on page 33 under 8-322 "Move existing FoxPro application to the web . . .". It is not mentioned anywhere else! Not even in the database area (Pages 20 - 23). Now, if someone wants to respond by saying they mention "Visual Studio" then I say "Hogwash!". VB and VC++ are mentioned all over the place.

>I am a long-time FPDOS, FPWIN, VFP contract programmer. I don't care what Robert Green says or anyone else at Microsoft, the proof is in the advertising and the conferences. I attended an event here in Dallas, TX last year and VFP was a passing thought.
>
>What the BS is going on? I have used PowerBuilder and found major engine problems. I have found VFP to be THE BEST 32BIT TOOL ON THE MARKET. Obviously, MS is so full of themselves, they do not even know what they own.
>
>Not to provoke my VFP compadres, but this is just too much. Robert, if you truly do read this web site - kick Gates in the rear and awaken him to the Power of VFP! I have just had to take a "mainframe" contract because of the decline in the FoxPro marketplace. Good grief! I will next have to take a PowerBuilder contract because Sybase markets it's best software! AND VB SUCKS - no oop.
>
>I truly believe Gates is the "James Taggart" of "Fountainhead".
>
>What a waste of a superior, beautifully engineered and constructed product.
>
>I'll shut up now and start brushing up on Powerbuilder, a product several notches (or many) below VFP.

i agree with everything except that James Taggart was in Atlas Shrugged not The Fountainhead....
