I booted my home computer into Fedora Linux and it still has this problem accessing the site. This means it isn't the PC and must either be my DSL provider or the server or server hosting. Any ideas?

>I am having a strange problem with our webserver which runs our ASP.NET/VFP application. The webserver is located at a small ISP in town. Via the internet connection from our various worksites (large hospitals) we can access the webserver without problems. Most of our staff can access the web application from home. A few months ago some users with cable broadband and DSL connections started to complain that they couldn't access our application. I could access the application from home with my DSL connection, for almost year, but two months ago it stopped working. Nothing as far as I could tell in terms in my computer configuration had changed. I even did a WinXP rollback to a date when the internet connection to the app worked. Still didn't work.

>Specifically what happens is that if a user (a user that is having problems) surfs to the website http://bme.vcha.net the page will start to load, but after 2-3 minutes the server will timeout with "page could not displayed" error. If before that error happens, the user presses the stop button on Internet Explorer they will see part or all of the page. It is almost as if the webserver is either not sending an acknowlegement that it has completed sending the page, or that the page is too big and is rejected. The pages are small.

>Strange factoids:
>- some people on my same DSL or same cable provider can access the website, some can't. Even people in the same neighboorhood with the same provider have different results
>- I could connect to the app for several months, now for 2 months I can't
>- if from home I connect to my neighboors ISP, I can connect to the web application with no problem. This says my ISP has a problem, but the first item on this list contradicts that because my friend 4 blocks away with my ISP has no problems.
>- all users whether they can access it or not can ping the webserver and tracert to it without any problems
>- the ISP where webserver is located says that their firewall is not filtering out any internet providers and IP address ranges
>- if users (that are having a problem) surf to the tiny page http://bme.vcha.net/test.htm they see all 21 lines
>- if users (that are having a problem) try to download a huge file zip file from the webserver, the download starts but then after 1 megabytes stops downloading.
