Unfortunately I think you are on the mark. The more I study it the more I realize that it is incredibly difficult to really know the truth about any subject of some complexity becuase of the biases of not only the story teller but also of ourselves as the reader or listener. This is only complicated when the story teller also has a hidden agenda.
