If there is containership involved and/or VFP can't get exclusive use of the VCX at edit time it goes through a delete/insert sequence. SCX's don't suffer this same problem because the screen designer always gets the SCX exclusive so they don't bloat. You should monitor your VCXs for bloat and pack them as needed.
