but ?
you could set up on any 'medium' sized ISP a mysql database,
and have your satellite 'offices' connect to it FROM vfp fat client with ODBC over the internet.

Then ? You can have some 'Master Control Program' back in your data center that is slinging data back and forth to the ISP-hosted mysql database , back to your VFP data in your data center.
