I'm trying to shrink the physical size of the transaction log, unfortunately, my attempted implementation of my research to date has had no positive effect.

First, I backed up the database.

Then, I backed up the transaction log with the "Remove inactive entries from transaction log" option checked.

Next, I ran DBCC SHRINKDATABASE and and finally DBCC SHRINKFILE (naming the transaction log specifically). Still, no joy. The transaction file remains 2.0 GB.
