Hi Jim,

Your SMTP is probably being used by spammers. Check the IIS docs for SMTP config settings.

After couple days of running the site I noticed that the I/O disk light was always on and server performance was really slow. I looked around the computer and found that the badmail folder had gobs and gobs of files in it. If I set the SMTP service to manual and reboot then the computer works great. During the testing phase of this project the email had always gone through and worked properly. My questions are, What is the badmail folder used for? Why is the SMTP service generating so many files in the badmail folder? How can I fix this? Is SMTP the proper way of sending an email?
