If the application runs a form intially and doesn't initiate a 'read events' then the form needs to be 'modal' or else control passes right through it and the app exits. If you are setting up a full application with a 'read events' then it should stay visible provided nothing is issuing a 'clear events'. Modeless forms should remain visible if the 'read events' was initiated.

So either make the form modal - if that is all your app does, a single form - or make sure your application does 'read events' (usually after setting up the environment and starting a menu - the last line, or thereabouts, of your startup program/chain.
