Hello Martin,

Yes, you are correct. The default value was created in the EM table designer and as such, it created a system generated default name. So, it seems the default is treated as a constraint and you can obviously drop a constraint. However, I didn't know the system generated name of the column's default. Then, I queried the sysobjects table and found the name of the default and then it was very easily dropped using drop constraint name.
