I think that the VFP + SQLServer + C# is an excellent combination. Migrate your database from VFP to SQLServer, migrate your client/server or file/server architecture to mordern webportal-based architecture and keep using VFP to create great webbased systems. Add C#, ASP.NET as you go and where needed.

I think that to be sucecssful in todays development, you have to consider two types of migration:

VFP database -> SQL Server database
Client/server -> web portal

C# and .NET would be a great add-on to your project, but it doesn't make to win or fail. .NET is a great add-on to VFP (or VFP to .NET - whatever sounds better), but not a substitute. The architechture is what really make your application to fly.

DevTeach is about VFP + SQLServer + C# and I think it is a great place to start. See you there :)
