Well I do need it to communicate with the client, but not the VFP clirnt <g> but with my client sitting in front of the screen, the VB app needs to tell him what's happening, so that he can adjust his other work on the computer. The VB app, is working through an ActiveX procedure that does real time stock market lookups, this may in turn cause slow downs since he has other applications that are also running through the sam underlying internet interface.
