In Bata/Bolivia, 10-15 users, I had to reindex all tables about once a year, average. I don't consider this a serious problem.
However, I did take some precautions. Mainly, you should make sure that record modifications are followed by a FLUSH command. This is after TableUpdate(), if you use buffering.
Also, if your file server has write caché, turn it off.
It may also help to protect the file server with a UPS.

>Just how stable is data integrity in VFP? How often (in a stable environment) do index corruption occur? Reason for asking is I've inherited an Access program which I made the suggestion that VFP would be better to use (i.e. multiuser, speed, etc. - list is too long :) ) however I'd like to know if there are any "major" issues with corruption and if I would be better off utilizing a 3 party product to deal with things.

Difference in opinions hath cost many millions of lives: for instance, whether flesh be bread, or bread be flesh; whether whistling be a vice or a virtue; whether it be better to kiss a post, or throw it into the fire... (from Gulliver's Travels)
