>Just how stable is data integrity in VFP? How often (in a stable environment) do index corruption occur? Reason for asking is I've inherited an Access program which I made the suggestion that VFP would be better to use (i.e. multiuser, speed, etc. - list is too long :) ) however I'd like to know if there are any "major" issues with corruption and if I would be better off utilizing a 3 party product to deal with things.

I find DBF's very stable (asuming proper environment, UPS, etc.)
I have an 7 year old app, started in 2.x, then rewrote in VFP6.0, upgraded to 7.0, and now it is in VFP8 SP1. Used daily with the biggest DBF at 5.1 million records, growing at about 25,000 a day and no problems whatsoever. The CDX has *many* tags for ease of query and reporting. I rebuild the index about once a year or less.

We are considering mobing that table alone (not the whople app) to SQL Server only because that dbf is now at 1.3 Gb and growing so I estimate less than 6 months to hit the 2Gb limit.
