I'm not positive, so maybe someone can jump in and verify this, but I think if you're binding a control to a table that's the target of a relation, you need to specify the name of the relation when you do the binding. For instance, if assets is related to workorders with a relation name of assettowork, then you need to say something like...
assets.assettowork
...when you define your binding for the table being related.
Again, not positive, but give it a try, and maybe some else can come in and verify.
