I'm pretty sure you can do this... I just don't remember which overload of the Merge method you have to use, by I know you can determine how the merge operation will work (like adding inexistent rows, or only updating existent rows... something like that)...

Try taking a look at the "DataSer.Merge method" entry on the MSDN help.
