I've just bought a new faster computer running Windows XP, and installed VFP8. Prior to this I was running VFP6 on an old machine running a 233 Mhz processor. The problem is that VFP8 runs slower in some respects on my new computer than VFP6 did on my one.
1. It is slow on loading the program initially.
2. It freezes for a couple of seconds while tying in commands to the command window.
3. When I scroll down through pages of code in a .prg file using the slider bar on the window, it freezes for a few seconds before letting me proceed.
4. I created a desktop shortcut (one was not created when I installed it), and when I right click this to rename it, it locks the computer for around 10 minutes.
5. Ctrl-F10 no longer works to expand the edit window.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled the program several times. I'm sure it is not intended to be like this ... what am I doing wrong?
