It's a trick but in fact i used the same one with MS SQL server 2000 (using the server TEXT type instead of a more adequate binary datatype).

I'll post a message over there. The problem is that i do not really known what odbc base functions are at stake when moving a blob back to firebird.
i have very limited understanding of the ODBC API. Will try anyway.
