Title:
Themes & BackColor property
I have Themes=.T. on a form, I have Buttons, EditBoxes, TextBoxes, ComboBoxes etc.. on my form.
When the form is in "edit" mode I have a white background on these controls. When in "View only" mode I like to turn off 3D effects and have backcolor match the form. I've done this for years and found users like it as it clearly shows edit state.
However with themes=.T. I have problems with Spinners & comboboxes. All other controls I can set BackStyle=0 (transparent) and the underlying colour comes through. With Comboboxes and Spinners there is no BackStyle so I try setting BackColor=THIS.Parent.BackColor. However in a form with themes the backcolor can gradiate down the form so the control has the wrong backcolor and sticks out like a sore thumb!
Any ideas how I might get round this? Please don't say "turn off themes" I am a believer in themes! I know they can make life harder but the clients like 'em and so do I!
