Sorry... mushy brain screwed up my formatting last message. Here's what it should look like:

Hell, I've been running and inventing all day and now my brain's turned to mush.

What it is, I've been invoking MapInfo with a startup workspace file, via the command:
RUN /N C:\Program Files\MapInfo\Professional\mapinfow.exe c:\mcl_windows\MapProg\Startup.wor
... and all's well.
Now, this means that the user, when he runs MapInfo stand-alone, always gets my maps, which is undesirable. o I have to run the system via MapBasic progs (end in .MBX for the compiled prject executable), that call up MapInfo with my maps, etc. But when I try:
Run /N c:\mcl_windows\mapprog\openmaps.mbx
I get the error "RUN/! command failed" - usually meaning unable to get the approp. shell prog to be executed.

I'm getting the afternoon somnolence in my chair and wondered if anyone could help solve this

TIA

Terry
