Hello All,

I would like to create a custom validator that does a lookup.

Basically I want to be able to drop the validator on the web page, point it to a control, specify table, lookup field, description field, additional description field... then, when the validator fires client side have the javascript run a page passing this info and getting back raw text or xml of the description.

Then, the validator will populate a specified label control with the desciption. Or, if nothing is returned the validator will pop-up a pick list.

If anyone can point me to an article or sample that does anything like this I would appreciate it.
