I have a VFP 6.0 form that has been in use since 2001. Last month I began installing a series of changes. The form has no data environment and opens and closes free tables as needed. Since I began making these changes, I have been getting intermittent error messages when I attempt to save the form. The error is always the same... the memo file for MYFILE.SCX is invalid or missing.

If the memo file (MYFILE.SCT) were truly missing, I don't believe VFP would even allow me to open the form. When I get this error, I open Win Explorer and check to make sure the sct file is indeed there, and it is. After I get this message, if I attempt to save it again, I get a File Not Open error. Eventually, VFP gets corrupt and I must crash out of it.

I've tried PACK MEMO, I've even tried copying the form table to a new one. It makes no difference if I've actually made any changes when I attempt to save. If I click on the Save button, without making any changes, mutiple times, I will eventually get the error.

I've copied just the form (without the project) to a different computer with another installation of VFP and get the same results.

The project compiles fine and runs fine, it just has a problem when attempting to save this form.

Any suggestions?
