Yes, version control would be good. However, we have work at home programmers. So in the case of SourceSafe, that would also mean SourceOffSite plus a server. I already maintain too many servers and cannot find an ISP that will let me load SourceSafe to one of their machines. There are a couple of peer to peer web enabled version control solutions, but they are per seat licensing and somewhat expensive for us.

So I am trying to find a rational way to handle the problem with the tools on hand.
