>Wow, world traveler. AccPac just purchased by Best/Sage. What are you showing - or was this a trip to combine fun and a write off?

Heya John -
I went in for a small 2 week contract - 1 week of 'fixing' and another week of training. In the mean time, I noticed there was not a current Singapore VFP Users Group - so I made the attempt to start one [see
http://efgroup.net/sing ] . We're off to a small start, but I think it will be possible to get 'recognized' speakers to do video conferencing for presentations .
It was a fluke I was there for the LinuxWorld Conference - but all n all it was a good conference - not one aimed at hackers but one aimed towards business folk , pushed by IBM and HP and others.. I got me a bag [vbg]
The ACCPAC thing - was the Advantage Series - and the main reseller who had the booth there said the VFP version was the Pro Series - and since it was a recent buyout - he couldn't answer me in terms of market penetration or installed site base in Singapore [which was understandable] .
Singapore is the [a ? ] springboard into other Asian Countries, China included, in terms of market penetration for IT. The IT malls there were incredible - think of your favorite mall there in Woodland, but ONLY computer resellers and manufacturers , about 300 shops in 6 to 8 stories / floors. It's similar to the IT Mall setups in BeiJing and GuangZhou, but you won't find any illegal or pirated works for sale in Singapore [and you DO in China].
