ODBC takes more resources and could be slower than OLEDB. Also, the Fox ODBC driver has not been updated since VFP6. The OLE DB provider continues to be updated. If you do opt for OLEDB, make sure you setup your connection string properly. Do not use a DSN= in it. If you do, it will use OLEDB *AND* ODBC.
