Certainly not my experience(s) (note the plurality!!!) with Novell. I had several clients that had repeated corruptions using Novell, we even had it in our office. We replaced the NOS (Novell with NT4), same hardware, same cabling, same everything except for the NOS, and never had any more corruption. It was almost a weekly occurence (for us, daily for a couple of our clients) when we used Novell, try as we might to stay patched and current with each new fix. I can safely say that move was an absolute necessity. YMMV.
