>Unfortunately, the question I asked a couple of years ago still has never been answered (at least not to my satisfaction). Many of us have gone over to MSDN subscriptions (not to be confused with the 'dark side'). VFP is now just part of the package, and nobody has ever given me a decent explanation as to how MS seems to know, by esp I assume, that what I most wanted out of that subscription was VFP. If I remember correctly, Ken's response was that MS has ways of measuring and giving a percentage to VFP. I found his explanation less than entirely enlightening at the time.

MS won't reveal their specific methods, but I have participated in several surveys that asked me which tool from MSDN I use most. As for other ways, I assume could use any and/or all methods commonly done to gather market research.

>The price of the subscription vs a couple of the individual tools is very attractive, so changing my purchase method made sense. So; I'm still a VFP user, but I am no longer part of the VFP upgrade stat - except in some mysterious statistical MS conjuring.

I agree. The pricing is attractive for what you get.

At this late stage, I doubt that MS is suddenly going to say to themselves, "Hey look, a lot of VFP people would like us to push VFP harder. What a surprise! Gee, I guess we'd better do it then." Ain't gonna happen. Tilting at windmills should be saved for something truly important, and for me software tools just don't fall into that category.

I agree with you here.
