I should note to those reading the thread that yesterday, Cecil sent me an email asking me a few questions about VFP marketing, and I replied via email with the paragraph below. This information will also be included in the June letter on msdn.com/vfoxpro next week.

I have stated publicly in many instances that the budget spent on VFP is only relative to the business of VFP, and that the marketing effort around VFP is and will remain similar to what it has been since the last several years. Microsoft does not have plans to merge VFP into Visual Studio and .NET, but instead we are working on adding as many great features found in VFP into upcoming versions of Visual Studio. Microsoft's strategic flagship developer tool is Visual Studio. Significantly more resources are focused on Visual Studio. Microsoft's strategic direction is with our products based on the .NET platform with Visual Studio as the developer tool for .NET based applications.
