That looks good. The reason I got confused was that the solutions sample created the object with o=CREATEOBJECT('word.basic') but I could not find any 'basic' object in the object browser, and the context help did not work either.

With your way of instantiating the 'word.application' it all makes sense, and I am in tune with the type library.
