Michel,

SQL Server 2000 Standard or Enterprise can only be installed on the Windows Server. On a workstation you can install MSDE, Developer or Personal editions. The Developer Edition includes all features of Enterprise one so you can do testing localy. See http://www.microsoft.com/sql/evaluation/overview/default.asp for editions comparison.

>I have Windows XP Pro. I want to install SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Edition. When I put the CD, nothing happens. I have to drill down the CD directory structure to run Setup.bat. That runs the setup. Setup tells me that only the client components will be able to be installed on that OS. I need SQL Server to be fully installed. What should I do?
