Thanks, yes, I read about that more after I made my post.

I lived in Atlanta in the early '90's (after 25 years in PA), and I now recall some discussions about Memorial Day.

I'm somewhat embarrassed to say that I can tell you many things about American History in the 1700's and 1900 on, but (despite all those trips to Gettysburg) my knowledge of the 1800's is not very good!
