One of my former clients has come up with a problem which I can't solve. He's tried posting a message on an IIS messageboard, but with no replies.

This is his problem - can anyone help?

I have an asp application that uses out of process components (written in visual foxpro). We are testing the application in windows 2003 and have found a problem with the out of process COM objects as DCOMCNFG is different in 2003 than it was in 2000.

To add to my problems the Visual Fox Pro programmer has left and I am not sure how to correctly configure DCOMCNFG for 2003.

The following are instructions we use to configure it for Windows 2000. I am hoping someone will be able to help me configure it for 2003.

Instructions:
Select Run from the Start menu and run DCOMCNFG.EXE. Go to the second tab and make sure that Enable COM Internet Services on this computer has a tick against it.
Now, go to the first tab (Applications) and scroll down to webrep.Graphwriter [our COM object]. Press the Properties button.
Go to the Security tab and select Custom Access Permissions. Edit and allow EVERYONE access.
Now, go to the Identify tab. Select This User and type in the name and password of a user with Administrative rights.
Save all changes and exit
