>Glad to help. I had the same revelation about custom properties not to long ago myself. Moving straight from FP2.5 DOS to VFP 5, I started developing my first app with public variables all over the place when, into about my fourth form, the lightbulb came on for me. Actually, IMO, making that revelation helped me better understand the basis of OOP and helped to evolve my thinking for design purposes.

In a small nutshell, I was hired a few weeks ago as the primary programmer for a one-man company, whose owner did everything himself. He is still making the transition from FPW2.6 to Visual and I took over a project, which he started. I have spent the past week cleaning up a lot of code. There were many routines and calls to them that I was able to replace with compact OOP code. The result is that I eliminated about 75% of his code! Having just discovered how to use public objects, with custom procedures, I spent part of today having fun with putting a lot of (SET PROC TO) library routines into object code. I am hooked on OOP now. How can I ever go back to 2.6 now?!?!
