Since they already had the capability in the product to suppress the dialog in COM servers, I guess they thought it would be a nice addition that was fairly easy to do (just add a switch we can flip). I'm sure that's over-simplifying it a bit, but maybe not too much.

This release has LOADS of little goodies in it that have been requested by the community, and a lot of very significant new features that will take a while to digest.
