Search for groupFooterNodeName -- it will only be there twice, once looking up the node name in use (stored to a variable of this name, up top) and once in an apply-templates expression using that variable.

The apply-templates expression should concatenate a final '|' after the use of $groupFooterNodeName.

I'm not surprised you didn't see it, for one thing it's an ugly expression (for good reasons)...

But, more generally, this is not a beginner's piece of XSLT <g>.

OTOH... the CSS here is pretty vanilla except for some FRX-specific units and calculations. Which may not be perfect, as you've already found.
