>HOUSTON, TX – June 4, 2004 – EPS Software Corp. today announced www.vfpconversion.com – a set of resources supporting the FoxPro and VFP communities in enhancing their FoxPro applications with latest technologies available from Microsoft, or in converting applications from VFP to the Microsoft .NET platform.

I plan to read before passing judgment, but it seems a bit unusual to (1) see an ad in the advertisement section on Visual FoxPro and (2) right when the VFP 9.0 Beta is released. It seems that your company wants to cut out whatever Visual FoxPro work is left to the VFP community and turn it into conversions to .NET.

I don't know about others, but Visual FoxPro is a great product and although it would certainly be naive of me to ignore .NET, I guess the love I have for this product, Visual FoxPro, causes me to feel a bit uneasy when your company is leading publicly the charge to cast off VFP and convert to .NET.

So, if you are to come on the UT forum and cast such an ugly idea in our faces in this forum, why then all the hoopla about how good VFP is? Why hold more Visual FoxPro conferences when on the other hand you are looking for and telling your customers to abandon VFP and convert to .NET?

I guess the great VFP MVP's are abandoning ship and leaving the rest of us to go down with it?

Now, with all of that said, I intend to learn one of the .NET languages or maybe two, only out of necessity, but it doesn't seem right for you to come into this forum and advertise .NET. Go on over to the .NET area. I feel as if it's 1995 and some VB developer came over and violated my space. (Okay, I don't mean to sound harsh, but what you have done doesn't seem right.)
