I had read through the thread and the only think I could think of would be what Kevin had suggested... A conflict with the .Net version of Crystal and the professional version installed afterwards. When I went to a Crystal conference last year one of the CR representatives there said that he personally recommened totally unistalling the Crystal piece that comes with .Net and then installing the full version. The version released with .Net is actually version 9.2 ... the full version is version 9 (even though it was released after the .Net version). Hope that helps with the hunt.
