No. Whatever JVP has previously advocated was *much* less of an issue than his choice to be a prickly messenger. Much less. Much.
If his advocacy issues hadn't been VB or .NET, they would have been virtually anything else, perhaps even including VFP. Still...Prickly. Hmmm. Maybe I'll run to the front of a parade and shout "follow me or you're an idiot" someday too. :-)
There are other MVP-types that have said similar, or more, things about .NET than JVP. They have not been tarred, feathered, scape-goated, hated or anything contributing to what looks like self-aggrandizing martyrdom. Rather, merely learned from. They act respectfully, not prickly.
