Excellent question and if I was in your place the one I would ask.

The company that I work for has something like 50+ man years of work in a VFP app. Like many apps it was first started in DOS then Fox-Windows then VFP. Also not too surprisingly the current code is not using OOP to it fullest, and some of the developers while very good Fox Coders still need some OOP training/experience.

When you combine all of this and other factors, the thinking is that we will learn MM for VFP cleaning up significant portions of the app ( actually breaking out portions of the main app into a new app or two. ) and then later rewriting in MM .Net. It is a stepping stone approach.

The final decision has not been made but that it the way it is leaning.
