>Now, that thread gets really funny :) J.-C. Petersen will save us from VFP.

No...if you want to use Fox - that is your business. My point is this - people that choose to go in a different direction - or promote services that show an alternative - do not deserve to get hammered. Of course - I am referring to the new EPS/DashPoint/OakLeaf/WestWind Endeavor.

People need to knock off with the whole "that is insulting" - or "why isn't MS marketing VFP" crap. People need to suck it up a bit, grow up - and move on. The whiners and complainers, the people with the big-a chip on their shoulder - deserve to the collective b-slap.

And another thing...don't think the collective "gee..thanks Fox team for all the hard work..." is going to make one bit of a difference. Kind of makes me feel why I don't give Volvo a call and say "gee, thanks for making a real nice car.."

If you want to use Fox - go for it. But lets face it, the Fox is - in all material respects - DEAD. Whether you agree, disagree, or whatever, I don't care. And for the record, I don't mean to personally offend anybody. Keep in mind, when I say Fox is dead, that is not supposed to - nor should it be taken as a personal insult. As the old saying goes - you are not - at least you are not supposed to be - your development tool.

All that said, it no doubt is true that for many, Fox is the most viable tool they have to choose from. Of course, they should use the tool - it only makes sense to do so.

C'mon people...stop already with jumping all over people who advocate that people who have VFP-based apps and/or people who use VFP - should be looking at alternatives. All the energy you WASTE in getting PO'd will not change a thing. The bottom line is that in the near future, a version of VFP that ships - shoud be shipped in a pine box...and that is something you should not take personally. And finally, if you want to be ticked at an entity - be ticked at MS. After all, it is their sandbox - it is their ball. The future of Fox is 100% in their hands.
