I think you are overrating the CAs’ abilities.
If I understand you right you want one and the same CA to be used to refer two different tables, but without subsequent CursorFill (otherwise your Grid will break down).
I this is what you need, I would used two different adapters and one cursor. Cursor will hold data to be shown in the grid and will be re-filled using one or another CA.
