Hello Kevin,

Couple of big differences,

1) Les did not put up an ad in the forum for his book, I believe Martin Salinas posted the info on the book and I don't believe Les even commented on it

2) Les has been writing about VB/VFP and VFP/VB conversion/similarities/differences for many years, I would venture to say over a decade (just a guess)

3) Les' books have been helpful in taking examples written in VB so the VFP user could work with them in fox. Even if this is not the primary motivation in the new book, I suspect VFP users can use it to mimic VB.Net stuff in VFP.

4) Les did not put together a team of some of the most well known names in VFP and develope a site focused on moving people away from VFP to .Net

I personally have no beef with .NET, I am sure it will become a useful language as it matures and will get a huge following since MS is going to spend the budget of a small country to promote it. I feel no need to move on yet, but thats a personal call.

>I posted basically the same question the other day - I asked why all the beef about the EPS site, and yet no negative static about the thread announcement of Les' book.

>Maybe that was the day they were offering the Taxi Driver's exam. ;)
