I know the saying and agree with it
Just because you can pass the VFP exams does not make you a good VFP developer.
However I believe the following statements is also true:
Good VFPers are able to pass the exam.
Furthermore I am of the opinion that ALL good VFPers should take and pass the exams, as part of their ‘right’ to be call good. ( Note: This is coming from someone who only in the last 30 days went and took/passed the distributed exam. I pass the desktop way back in the beta days. )
Therefore if you come to me and state that you are a good VFP developer and have not taken the exam and passed I wonder about how good you really are. Does having the MCP or not tip the ‘scale’ completely one-way or the other, no but I do find it one more significant piece of information.
All of the above is of course IMO.
