I think you'll find that if you have the desire to read the programmer's guide and step through Kevin's code so you can understand his design, and the time to ask questions, your learning curve shouldn't be that long.

Having said that, of course, "long" is relative. I've always figured 3-6 months, depending on OOP and VFP experience, before a programmer is able to design and program while taking the greatest advantage of all Kevin has put into the framework.
